This project took place in 2009- 2010 for a duration of 15 months. The overall objective of the project was to encourage a better knowledge and understanding of \u2018Multiculturalism\u2019 amongst youth in Cyprus to promote the interaction and integration of all ethnic groups in a peaceful society.<\/p>\n

The specific objectives were:<\/p>\n

    \n
  1. To deepen the understanding of \u2018Multiculturalism\u2019 and \u2018Diversity\u2019 amongst Cypriot youths with people to people contacts with a multicultural European Community and various Cypriot groups of different cultural backgrounds.<\/li>\n
  2. To provide training to youth on how they can integrate the concept of \u2018Diversity\u2019 and \u2018Multiculturalism\u2019 into education.<\/li>\n
  3. To raise public awareness on the European approach to Multiculturalism and Diversity<\/li>\n
  4. To establish a network and increase linkages between Turkish Cypriot, Greek Cypriot and Irish organisations dealing with peace and Diversity issues and other organisations within the European peace movement.<\/li>\n
  5. To increase the number of active youths particularly within the Turkish Cypriot Community, who understand Multiculturalism and encourage a multicultural attitude in Cyprus.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    The project entailed a ten day training camp in Ireland with participants representing minorities in Cyprus and Ireland who study in the Education Sector.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"This project took place in 2009- 2010 for a duration of 15 months.
