This project took place in 2009 with the financial support of Global Grant for Women. The aim of the project was to raise awareness on the HPV virus and emphasise the importance of the vaccination as well as lobby for its inclusion on to the obligatory vaccination list of the public hospital.
The project entailed the free vaccination of 20 women with financial difficulties and the publication of the importance of the HPV vaccine on TV and radio channels. Lobbying and advocacy to exert pressure on the government to prioritize the HPV vaccine took place and a pressure group aiming to establish a law for the free HPV Vaccine for girl children was established.
